It’s been an incredibly busy several months.. has it really been six months since I posted? Holy cow! Well, we keep plugging along, most recently having saved a pregnant Shih Tzu literally off the auction block at a puppy mill auction just in time for her 3 puppies to be born a week later. The two surviving puppies, we are thrilled to report, will never know life in a puppy mill, and once they are weaned, Livia will never have to deliver puppies again and will be able to begin her search for a forever home.
Today, CSTR Tallahassee was contacted and asked to take 17 Shih Tzu being released by a breeder and desperately needing to get into rescue. In order to take these dogs, though, WE NEED YOUR HELP. We need to raise $1000 right away to cover the initial vet costs. Please visit our ChipIn Fundraisers page to donate today!
Our sweet Dexter has had a rough life. He came from an Orlando, FL animal shelter, and when we got him, we found that he was missing a large patch of hair on his back due to healing chemical burns. At the age of only approximately 6 years he also had pretty serious dry eye. His bloodwork was also abnormal, and after two expensive tests, it was determined that he has Cushings Disease although the cause is undetermined. So, the next step is an ultrasound in order to pinpoint the cause and determine a course of treatment. We need your help to raise the money for yet another expensive test, and we need to raise it before Dexter’s appointment on Thursday, August 23, at 9:00AM (ET).
CSTR Refuge participant, Vanessa, had to have emergency surgery to remove her eye, and we need your help raising the money to pay for the surgery. If you can donate even $10 or $20, we would truly appreciate it! Visit our Fundraisers page today!
CSTR – both Illinois and Florida – have taken several dogs into our program in the past couple of weeks, and we need your help raising the money we need to get them the vetting they need. Please visit our ChipIn Fundraisers Page to see the dogs we are trying to help.. and if you can donate, we would truly appreciate it!
The CSTR Tallahassee program brought in a new foster dog on Saturday, 6/23/12. Dexter came from a kill shelter in Orlando. We were told he had “flaky skin”, but on arrival discovered that he has what appears to be chemical burns on his back resulting in hairloss and open sores.
We need to raise his intake sponsorship to get him the vetting services he needs, so please donate, if you can.
Mollie and Peggy are two puppy mill survivors who have made it from Missouri to the CSTR IL foster program. We need to raise their intake vetting sponsorships so that we can get them the vetting services they need to start their new lives. If you can help us, please click on the ChipIn below and donate today. Thank you!
CSTR has taken in a couple more needy dogs in the past few weeks, and we need your help to raise the money needed to provide the veterinary services they need.
